The ODU SVEA is an organization that provides prospective teachers with the opportunity to bridge the gap between being a student and being a teacher. Members are provided with valuable opportunities, such as workshops/professional development, conventions, community service, and creation of a grant. Joining the ODU SVEA is a valuable experience that will greatly benefit any future teacher.

Joining the SVEA goes beyond the ODU community. When you join the SVEA you become a member of the Virginia Education Association (VEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). That's three memberships for the price of one! As a member of these organizations, you are able to access numerous benefits, some of which include discounts (cars, apparel, electronics, travel, insurance, etc.) and liability insurance.
